the landmark tree
We have primal curiosity toward fire and the smell, triggers a physiological affect, a sense of home. This work was in memory of a cut-down-landmark-tree that I realised I had photographed repeatedly over the years. I saved some of the trunk and burned it as an alternative marker of home.
Materials: Super 8 film, 35mm film scans, a bonfire incense candle and foley fire soundtrack made from plastic, hand-claps and casiotone.
